The artists:
David Chesworth’s interdisciplinary music and soundscapes are well-known both locally and internationally. His work explores relationships between natural and cultural materials, as well as conceptually playful interactions between sounds and listeners. Working solo, in experimental art/pop groups (Essendon Airport and Whadya Want?), and with the David Chesworth Ensemble, Chesworth has developed projects in opera, dance, theatre, video, and public art. Synthesisers have always been a significant tool in these projects, which include exhibitions and performances at the Venice and Sydney Biennales, Ars Electronica in Austria, and Bang on a Can in New York.

Mads Davey is a composer, instrumentalist and vocalist whose work spans art music to popular contemporary worlds. Mads' work explores a widened centre of pitch, harmony and dissonance. She contrasts old and new worlds, pairing traditional instruments - such as pedal organs, woodwind, piano and strings with 20th century synthesisers. Mads one third of composer collective Stathis//Davey//Kim and one sixth of electro acoustic ensemble Golden Sands, as well as a touring member of various bands. For the November iteration of HTM Mads will perform using a Dave Smith Tempest, a Hydrasynth, and a Tape machine.
