Come and join us to hear from the winners and runners up of the Liverpool Literary Festival short story competition 2024.
This year the competition is kindly sponsored by Liverpool One, who have donated the prizes for the lucky winners in each category.
The winners are:
· University of Liverpool staff winner: Michael Holloway (Library Services)
· University of Liverpool postgraduate student winner: Eleanor McAdam (English)
· University of Liverpool undergraduate student winner: Caitlin Mercer (English)
The runners up are:
· University of Liverpool staff runner up: Laura Brough (ULMS)
· University of Liverpool postgraduate student runner up: Holly Dempster-Edwards (LCF)
· University of Liverpool undergraduate student runner up: Ava Williams (English)
Selected by a prestigious panel including the Liverpool Literary Festival Director, Professor Greg Lynall, all entrants have written a short story of no longer than 1,500 words on the theme ‘turning’, which explores the concept of change and transformation in our lives through storytelling.
Come and hear from the winners about talk about their journeys as writers, their approach to writing short stories and much more at the Liverpool Literary Festival on Sunday 6 October.
