Healthy School Meals for All Advocacy Day

Join us for a powerful day of advocacy at the Healthy School Meals for All Advocacy Day! We’re bringing together a diverse coalition of students, parents, caregivers, school nutrition staff, and community stakeholders to share personal stories and champion the impact of healthy school meals on academic success, health, and family economic security.

Event Highlights:

• Bagged Lunch Drop-Off: All 140 Virginia legislators will receive a brown bag lunch, complete with an apple, data fact sheet, one-pager, and heartfelt personal stories.

• Morning Check-In: Start your day with coffee, pastries, and breakfast snacks at our reserved room in the General Assembly Building (GAB). Advocates will receive a folder with event materials.

• Self-Guided Legislative Visits: If you would like to meet with your Delegate and/or Senator, you will need to schedule the meeting directly. Voices will provide bill fact sheets and one-pagers to assist in guiding your discussion.

• Kick-Off Pep Rally: Head to the iconic Bell Tower for an energizing pep rally featuring a giant lunch bag! Let’s raise our voices together to highlight the importance of healthy school meals.

No prior training is required! We are seeking passionate individuals who are willing to amplify the voices of children and families in their communities. Whether you’re a seasoned advocate or new to the process, your participation can make a meaningful difference! Together, we can elevate the needs of those we serve and create a positive impact on legislation affecting our children and families.
