Do I need to be a Dover resident?
Do I need to live in Dover?
- No! Anyone can register as long as you can make the drive to join us ?
What ages can participate?
- Ages 2-14 can participate. The divisions are as follows:
2-3 year olds - 50 yard dash
4-5 year olds - 75 yard dash
Challenger division for participants with special needs - 75 yard dash
K-1st grade - 1/4 mile
Grades 2-3 - 1/2 mile
Grades 4-8 - 1 mile
How much does it cost?
- Cost is $50 per child for 5 races, a t-shirt, and a medal on the final week. This cost is set by the national program. Company sponsorships do get a few free bibs, so if you have any interest in sponsoring that is a nice bonus!
Is this competitive?
- It is semi-competitive. This is all about having fun and having a healthy lifestyle, but we will time the races for the older age groups and will keep track of places. At the end of the program all participants will get a medal and top finishers will get a trophy.
What kind of run is this? Is it only races?
- Yes, it is only races. We have no practices and will meet once a week to run. This program is meant to be more like cross country than a road race. We will be running on a dirt/grassy path and baseball outfield at Woodman Park School in Dover.
