Healthcare Professionals Open Day - Morning session

The Driving and Mobility Centre (West of England) is a specialist centre designed to help disabled and older people keep mobile and independent and help those affected by medical conditions stay safe on the road. We have an expert team of Occupational Therapists and Driving Advisors that undertake comprehensive assessments of ability to drive a vehicle safely and in comfort.

We provide driving assessments for adaptations and fitness to drive as well as passenger and equipment loading assessments and scooter assessment.

We know that advising patients regarding driving can be a sensitive and often difficult subject. Therefore, our Open Day is designed for you to have the opportunity to:

• meet the assessment team

• have your questions answered such as how to refer and when to refer

• ask questions about DVLA medical guidelines and what they mean for you and your patient

• find out about the referral and assessment process

• find out about potential outcomes

• extend your knowledge about the patient experience

• view adaptations and vehicles and equipment

• have confidential discussion with members of the assessment team

• network with local HCPs

• receive a certificate of attendance
