Health & Safety Month | 7.5km Airfield Walk

In partnership with RFDS Victoria, join us as we walk the entire 7.5km Essendon Fields Airport airside perimeter road and see a unique angle of the Fields, while helping us maintain our excellent safety standards. Participating in the RFDS Ocean To Outback in October? This will help you smash that challenge.

On arrival to the RFDS Victoria Hangar you'll be presented with hi-vis and assigned a Visitor Identification Card [VIC] by our aviation team.

Then it’s a 7.5km walk past historic hangars, along 100-year-old pavements, past Runway 08/26 and 17/35. Wear your activewear and get ready to set a strong pace. We’ll chat along the way, exploring our safety framework at Essendon Fields Airport including FOD [Foreign Object Debris], our Wildlife Hazard Management plan, the Airports Emergency Management Plan and general airside safety requirements.

Complete the challenge by arriving back at the iconic Essendon Fields Airport terminal and pick up your complimentary breakfast pack supplied by Friction Café, and gift from RFDS Victoria.

Places are $25pp + bf, with proceeds going to RFDS Victoria, so make sure you register today!

AIRSIDE ACCESS
If you do not hold a valid ASIC then you must ensure you apply for your VIC [Visitor Identification Card] no later than 2 days before the event. You must be 16 years of age or older to apply for a VIC. Please also wear your runners and ensure you bring along photo ID.
