Join Open Table Faith for a very special seminar: "Healing Religious Trauma." This seminar is part of Open Table Faith's REDISCOVERING THE WAY Gathering, and will take place on Thursday, March 6 at First Christian Church in Tyler from 5:00pm-8:30pm. The workshop will include three sessions:
Session 1: "Trauma God"

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Amy Collier Artman (Ph.D., University of Chicago) is full-time faculty in the Department of Languages, Cultures and Religions at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, where she teaches courses in religious studies. She is author of The Miracle Lady: Kathryn Kuhlman and the Transformation of Charismatic Christianity in America, published by Eerdman’s Press. Her current research is a history of the narrative of religious trauma in modern America. Artman’s most recent project is as a Subject Matter Expert in a biographical docuseries about Tammy Faye Bakker titled “Better Angels: The Gospel According to Tammy Faye,” which made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January of this year (2024). Amy lives in Springfield, Missouri with her husband David, three cats, and a lively Australian Shepherd.
Brittany Gayetsky, LCSW-S is the Director of Client Care, Adults and Couples, at Mosaic Counseling Centers of East Texas. Brittany loves providing therapy to adult clients. Working with gentle curiosity, she feels privileged to be with clients in times of great pain and during moments that reflect the fullness of who they are. Brittany works from a psychodynamic perspective and is trained in Hakomi, a mindfulness-centered, somatic therapy. In her supervisory role, she strives for excellence in clinical care and to help create an environment where therapists feel supported to do purposeful, compassionate work. Don Neal, LPC is part of the team at Mosaic Counseling Centers of East Texas. Don enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and couples, especially those struggling with traumatic life experiences. He primarily uses Person-Centered and Trauma-Informed therapies with clients while integrating concepts from existential philosophy and spirituality. Additionally, he is trained in Brainspotting and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. In the counseling room, he strives to create an environment in which clients feel understood, supported, and in charge of their own personal health and growth.
Kathy Escobar is a pastor, spiritual director, speaker and author who helps create safe and brave spaces for transformation and healing. Through facilitated experiences, consulting, retreats, and workshops, she work with individuals and teams to cultivate healing and catalyze change. She is passionate about creating inclusive spaces centered around people who are marginalized. She is the author of five books, including Practicing: Changing Ourselves to Change the World and Faith Shift: Finding Your Way Forward When Everything You Believe is Coming Apart.
