Healing Movement Workshop + Wild ’n Out Dance Social

This one hour class offers accessible somatic healing through movement and somatic practice: an evening of playful movement, connection, and release!. We will be working on harnessing the healing power of movement for people of all movement abilities, dancers, non-dancers, able body folks, and people with disabilities. We’ll kick off with a guided somatic practice to let go, move through and create space for ourselves, followed by a guided self-loving, after-care practice. Finally, we’ll connect with each other with energy exchange exercises.

The night wraps up with a 2 hour Wild ‘n Out dance social, where you can let loose and feel the music either solo or in partnership. Music ranges from trad Jazz to Salsa and Bachata, Kizomba, House, top 40 and general shake-that-ass JOY. Move, heal, and connect with us in a welcoming, joyful space!

This is a masked event and will be held a the Hiawatha Art Space Lofts 843 Hiawatha PL S, Seattle 98144. There is street parking in the neighborhood, there is 5 min and 30 min parking spaces on the block and you can park there as long as you like with an ADA pass. We will be in the community room on the first floor, there are no stairs to access the space. The room has glass windows on 2 sides and cement and wooden floors. You will be able to participate in the class either standing, sitting in a chair, or sitting/laying on the floor.

This is scent-free space to accommodate anyone with allergies and sensitivities. Please no scented oils, perfumes, colognes or detergents. Please bring anything you’d like to be cozy, like warm clothing and socks, blankets, yoga mat, mobility aids, or anything else to make you feel safe and welcome during the class. We are working to make this class as accessible as possible for all people.
