Healing Holiday Symposium
About this Event
Led by The Rev. Darwin Huartson, B.C.C., the Healing Holidays Symposium will help participants identify internal and external resources that foster self-compassion, strengthen resilience, and support healthy grieving during the holiday season.
The holidays often renew memories, family connections, and cherished traditions. For those who are grieving, however, this season can also make the absence of a loved one especially painful. Grief and the expectations of the holidays can become intertwined, making an already difficult season even harder to navigate.
Through compassionate guidance, reflection, and practical resources, this symposium will help individuals and families honor and embrace their grief while developing practices that strengthen resilience. Participants will explore meaningful ways to remember their loved ones, carry their stories forward, and make space for both grief and healing during the holidays.
The Healing Holidays Symposium will take place on Thursday, November 12, at Emanuel’s Lutheran Church, in partnership with the Resilient Foundation. The symposium will be hosted in the Women’s Ministry Room, located on Level 1, immediately accessible as you enter the building from Mountain Street.
Whether your loss is recent or many years past, this gathering offers a supportive space to acknowledge the realities of grief, discover resources for the holiday season, and find meaningful ways to carry love, memory, and hope forward.
