As the only sport requiring players to use their heads for controlling and striking the ball, there has been increased research on the neurological risks of heading in football. However, evidence linking heading to neurocognitive decline remains inconclusive.
We'll discuss how the limitations of previous research have informed our current work to improve our understanding of the risks and their implications for playe safety.
