Head Start Enrollment Event

Begin your child’s Head Start journey with Porter-Leath.

Each Head Start location offers high-quality early childhood education in a safe and clean learning environment. Children must be 3 or 4 years old by August 15, 2026 to enroll into Head Start.
We look forward to welcoming your child into one of our classrooms.
Head Start Preschool enrollment has two steps.
Step 1: Fill out Your Child’s Head Start Application
Step 2: Attend an In-person Interview with necessary documents.

The following is a list of documents needed to determine enrollment eligibility:
- Parent’s Photo Identification
- Proof of Parent’s Address (i.e. MLGW bill, lease or mortgage in parent's name)
- Parent/Guardian’s Proof of Income (3 most recent check stubs, 2025 W-2 or 1040)
- Certified Copy of Child’s Birth Certificate
- Copy of Child's Insurance Card
- Certificate of Immunization with Current Physical Exam (within 12 mos.)
- Well Child Summary
Note: You do not need to bring your child to complete your student’s enrollment.
