He/She - A Play Reading

He/She is a psychological thriller that follows HIM, a young trans man who is deep into his transition yet still grappling with the repercussions of living as his true self in a world dominated by cis-heteronormative values. HIM is in a stable relationship and comfortable nannying GIRL, when his life is radically altered by his interview for a new job with HER, a mysterious and potentially dangerous individual. As HIM’s relationship with HER develops, he begins to question his reality, wondering why HER seems to have a personal issue with him. Tensions escalate as HIM confronts self-doubt and the painful idea of "lost time," struggling to reconcile his past with his future.. Through HIM’s unraveling, the play challenges the meaning of identity, worth, and how we learn to forgive ourselves while navigating the complexities of who we are and who we are becoming.
