H.E. Kalu Rinpoche - Teachings & Empowerments - December 2022

H.E. Kalu Rinpoche has kindly offered to give the 'Accomplishment of the Four Deities Combined' and the 'Niguma Long-Life' Empowerments.

This is an especially auspicious event as this is the first time that Rinpoche has bestowed any empowerment in the UK.

This event is free, though offerings/donations to Rinpoche are encouraged.

The dates and times for this event are as follows:

3rd December - 9:00am to 4:00pm

4th December - 1:00pm to 6:00pm

We recommend arriving about 30 minutes before the start of each event in order to settle in and be ready for Rinpoche's teachings.

Teachings and explanations on how to participate in the empowerment will be given on the 3rd of December, and the actual empowerments themselves will be given on the 4th of December. Rinpoche has kindly requested that, in order to receive the empowerments, everyone should attend both days.

“At the time of approach, accomplishment and application of activities, this practice of the “Combined Accomplishment of the Four Deities” is indispensable. […] Complete this practice according to its sadhana and commentary, and you will dispel all outer and inner obstacles and receive blessings.”

“The contemplative practice of the Lama Vajradhara grants the highest accomplishments in this very life. Speedy attainment of the stages of the path depends upon two factors. Dispelling of hindrances and enhancement of contemplative experience. The ultimate method for dispelling outer hindrances is that of the Protector; for inner ones that of Tara. The very best method for the outer enhancement of loving kindness and compassion is the practice of Avalokiteshvara; for the inner enhancement of bliss and heat we practice Vajrayogini. Thus a single session of this practice covers every stage of the path. […] You can accomplish this in three months of undistracted practice. Meditation upon this without fail at each dawn session, brings about ordinary and extra-ordinary accomplishments!”

Kalu Rinpoche will also offer the long life empowerment of Niguma, which transmits her blessings for longevity and continued opportunity to engage in Dharma practice.

The wisdom Dakini Niguma is one of the primary sources of teachings and practices relating to the Shangpa Kagyu Lineage. After engaging in spiritual practice for three incalculable eons, she attained rainbow body and received teachings directly from Vajradhara, the primordial buddha. She then transmitted her teachings to Khyungpo Naljor who later founded the Shangpa Kagyu Lineage. Niguma continues to manifest in various forms in order to benefit and guide beings. In particular, she compassionately watches over those who wholeheartedly engage in her practices; she blesses them and ensures the success of their enlightened activity.
