He Hononga Ora - Connections that give life proudly sponsored by Love and Learn Daycare is a community initiative to respond to the feedback that's been given, indicating that a large number of the people of Whanganui don't know where to go to get supports, what's available or even if they can access it.
So to start bridging those gaps, we are bringing the support services of Whanganui together for a fun filled community event.
We will have these services at stalls around Majestic Square, manned by kaimahi, with information available about who they are, what they offer, who can access their supports and how.
Plus entertainment throughout, interactive elements, family fun, games, challenges, prizes and a Community Shoutout Section. Where anyone can nominate anyone in the Whanganui community for 1 of 5 categories to get some recognition for the love they put out into the world.
We will also be remembering the people we have lost to suicide, through a quiet vigil and display of the lives cut short. More details about this to follow.
