This booking covers 11 art and design sessions running every Wednesday from 11th of January to the 29th of March, except for the school inservice day on Wednesday 15th of February.

SPRING PROGRAMME

Session 1 / January 11th / DRAWING WEEK 1

Sessions 2, 3 & 4 / January 18th, 25th & February 1st / Printmaking


Over these three weeks, students will be introduced to etching, collagraphy and how to print from their own plates. We will look at works by William Blake and Louise Bourgeois.

Sessions 5, 6 & 7 / February 18th, 22nd and March 1st / Tonal Drawing


By studying works by artists Kathe Kollwitz and Degas, we will work on our drawing skills through the use of tone, light and shade.

Session 8 / March 8th / DRAWING WEEK 2

Sessions 9, 10 & 11 / March 15th, 22nd and 29th / Communication Design


In this series of lessons we will be generating and communicating ideas through subverting and playing with design conventions. We will look at graphic designers such as Alan Fletcher and Margaret Calvert.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Classes are held at The Studio, 567 Dumbarton Road, Partick G11 6HU. Please note that the on street parking is metered.

Students need to bring an A3 sketch book, all other materials will be provided.
