About this Event
This healthcare professional study day provides offers a comprehensive exploration of fertility services for adolescents and young adults (AYA), bringing together specialists from oncology, reproductive medicine, nursing, laboratory science, and patient advocacy. The programme provides evidence‑based insights into the impact of cancer treatments on reproductive health, including the effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy on fertility.
Attendees will learn about current AYA referral and assessment pathways, the processes and technologies involved in fertility preservation, and key survivorship considerations such as premature ovarian insufficiency. The event also highlights emerging Irish data, service gaps, and future needs relating to legislation and funding, complemented by valuable lived experiences shared by patient and parent or guardian advocates.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experts, deepen their understanding of fertility care in the AYA population, and reflect on evolving clinical and research developments, with the day offering further interaction with clinical teams upon conclusion.
