Start the new year off feeling like you're on top of the world. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner, an experienced dancer, or just like to sit sand enjoy the music. Everyone is welcome. This month's music will be provided by Confluence, a New Haven based group featuring Jim Sirch, Willow Sirch, and Gary Wickfors, playing such interesting instruments as the nickleharpa, fiolharpa, five-string fiddle, Irish flute, and bodhran. Don't know what some (or any) of these instruments are? Here is your chance to find out! This trio has played for the HCD second Saturday contra also (with a super awesome hambo at the break) and you are sure to enjoy their music.
If your waltzing is a little rusty, be sure to come at 2:30 for some warm up dancing before the live music starts at 3:00. Admission is only $15 per person, far less than a concert or dance class. Join us!
