Hayao Miyazaki’s Dreams door La Chapelle Sauvage
"Howl’s Moving Castle", "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind", "Spirited Away" en "My Neighbor Totoro" — U hoort iconische soundtracks uit wereldberoemde anime van het grootste Japanse creative duo Hayao Miyazaki en Joe Hisaishi. Duik in de wereld van deze fantastische muziek met een kleurrijke en gepassioneerde uitvoering door het hedendaagse La Chapelle Sauvage. Plezier voor het hele gezin gegarandeerd!
Gedurende zijn lange carrière schreef Hisaishi de meest diverse muziek voor film, anime, computerspellen, televisie en reclamespots. Hij componeerde ook de muziek voor de Paralympische Spelen van 1998 in Nagano. Zijn bekendste composities zijn die voor de cultfilms van Takeshi Kitano en uiteraard de anime van Hayao Miyazaki.
Hisaishi en Miyazaki zijn een "match made in heaven", een unie van even briljante makers. We zullen het nooit zeker weten: Werden Miyazaki's films briljant dankzij de muziek van Hisaishi of was het omgekeerd?

Joe Hisaishi is een van de meest beroemde Japanse componisten. Zijn eerste album 'Information' bracht hij uit in 1982. In 1983 werd de jonge componist door Isao Takahata aanbevolen bij Hayao Miyazaki om het bijbehorende album te schrijven voor de manga Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Miyazaki vond Hisaishi's werk zo leuk dat hij hem uitnodigde om ook de muziek voor de gelijknamige film te schrijven. Hierdoor werd Hisaishi eensklaps beroemd. Uit dankbaarheid werkte hij ook aan alle daaropvolgende films van Miyazaki.
Hisaishi ontving een recordaantal (vier) Japanse Film Academy Awards in de categorie "Beste Filmmuziek". Drie daarvan zijn prijzen voor muziek bij Takeshi Kitano's films: "Sonatine" (1993), "The Boys Are Back" (1996) en "Fireworks" (1997). Hij componeerde ook de soundtracks voor Kitano's films "Scenes by the Sea" (1992), "Kikujiro" (1999), "Brother of the Yakuza" (2001), "Dolls" (2002) en "Yamato" (2005).

🎻La Chapelle Sauvage
La Chapelle Sauvage is een artistiek huis met vele kamers. Het ontstond onder impuls van de Belgische dirigent Karel De Wilde als een internationaal initiatief van jonge professionele musici komende uit geheel de wereld. Wat hen samenbracht en typeert is een wilde en ontembare muzikale ambitie met een eigentijdse, kritische en reflectieve attitude.
Karel De Wilde studeerde op jonge leeftijd piano, orgel, klavecimbel en contrabas, en vervolgens orgel, muziektheorie en orkestdirectie aan de Koninklijke Conservatoria van Gent en Mons. Reeds vroeg werden zijn veelzijdige talenten in binnen-en buitenland opgemerkt en werd hem aangeboden om deze uitermate te laten ontwikkelen. Zo werden verschillende van zijn composities succesvol internationaal gecreëerd en concerteerde hij in aanwezigheid van tal van Europese prominente persoonlijkheden. Het was Karel's arrangement van het
Belgische Volkslied dat geselecteerd en uitgevoerd werd te Brussel door het Nationaal Orkest van Kroatië in aanwezigheid van de Europese regeringsleiders op de dag van hun toetreding tot de EU. Karel wordt aanschouwd als één van Belgiës meest beloftevolle nieuwe dirigenten en is een graag geziene artistieke partner van talrijke artiesten en culturele organisaties. Hiervan getuigen de succesvolle samenwerkingen met La Chapelle Sauvage, Red Events, An Pierlé, Podium Nieuw Talent, Davidsfonds, Beauraing Festival of Sacred Music, Festival van Vlaanderen, German Quality Entertainment en vele anderen.
Niettegenstaande hun vaste kern modificeert hun bezetting zich gedurig naargelang het repertoire, dat een grote verscheidenheid aan kamermuziek bevat evenals werken voor symfonisch orkest en regelmatig samenwerkt met koren en internationale solisten. Hierbij steeds opzoek naar een creatieve en authentiek verantwoorde uitvoering, gebruik makende van de kennis en modernste technieken waarover we heden ten dage beschikken.

✨ А unique concert on June 13th will take place at 8.00 pm in the incredibly atmospheric Keizersgracht Church in the heart of Amsterdam. “Howl’s Moving Castle”, “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind”, “Spirited Away”, and “My Neighbor Totoro” - you will hear fantastically charming soundtracks from world-famous anime by the greatest modern Japanese composer, Joe Hisaishi. Plunge into the world of fantastic music in the heartfelt, most colourful performance of the contemporary orchestra La Chapelle Sauvage. Delight for the whole family is guaranteed.
Throughout his long career, Hisaishi has worked extensively on music for film, anime, computer games, television and advertising. He also created the music for the 1998 Paralympic Games in Nagano. Hisaishi's most famous works are for the cult films of Takeshi Kitano and, of course, for the anime of Hayao Miyazaki.
Hisaishi and Miyazaki are a union of equal brilliant creators. You will never understand for sure: Miyazaki's films became brilliant thanks to Hisaishi's music or Hisaishi's music became brilliant thanks to Miyazaki's films.

Joe Hisaishi is one of the most famous Japanese composers. He released his first album 'Information' in 1982. Hisaishi received a record number of times (four) Japanese Film Academy Awards in the category “Best Film Music”. La Chapelle Sauvage is an artistic house with many rooms. It saw light by the impulse of the Belgian conductor Karel De Wilde as a teamwise and international initiative of young professional musicians coming from all over the world. What gathered them is a wild and untameable musical ambition with a contemporary, critical and reflective attitude.
Karel De Wilde is a versatile artist. He studied piano, organ, harpsichord and double bass at a young age, and then organ, music theory and orchestral conducting at the Royal Conservatories of Ghent and Mons. His compositions were successfully created internationally and he performed in the presence of many prominent European personalities. It was Karel's arrangement of the Belgian National Anthem that was selected and performed in Brussels by the National Orchestra of Croatia in the presence of the European heads of government on the day of their accession to the EU. Karel is regarded as one of Belgium's most promising new conductors and is a welcome artistic partner of numerous artists and cultural organisations. This is evidenced by the successful collaborations with La Chapelle Sauvage, Red Events, An Pierlé, Podium Nieuw Talent, Davidsfonds, Beauraing Festival of Sacred Music, Festival van Vlaanderen, German Quality Entertainment, Rusanda Panfili and many others.
In addition to a large classical repertoire, La Chapelle Sauvage gladly ventures into various projects in multiple styles. Notwithstanding the solid core, their instrumentation continually modifies according to the repertoire which contains a wide variety of chamber music as well as works for symphony orchestra and regularly collaborates with choirs and international soloists.
