The horse lover in your life will absolutely adore this "Hay Girl" wall hanging! These whimsical horses are guaranteed to bring a smile to anyone's face. Join Vonnie at the Appleton studio for a comprehensive four-session course where you will learn traditional paper piecing alongside a clever method to convert your project to foundation piecing—meaning no tedious paper removal once your blocks are finished.This class is designed to let your creativity run wild. Whether you prefer realistic browns and tans or a "horse of a different color" like pink, purple, or green, the choice is yours! You can make a single wall hanging or add as many horses as you like to create a full-sized quilt.
Class Details:
Location: Ana’s Sewing Room – Appleton
Dates: 4 Wednesdays (April 1, 8, 15 & 22)
Time: 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Please bring a lunch or snack)
Cost: $75 registration + $10 pattern + fabrics
Skill Level: All levels welcome; great for those new to paper piecing!
WHAT TO BRING:
• Sewing machine in good working order, your foot control, power cord & machine manual.
• Open toe & ¼” foot for your machine
• Sewing supplies – pins, fabric & paper scissors, rotary cutter with a fresh blade, Add-a-quarter ruler*, fabric marker, seam roller*, small cutting mat, No-Show mesh or Poly-mesh* for foundation, fabric glue stick
• Variety of fabric colors (browns, blacks, tans, or bright colors if you like)
• Variety of neutral background colors
• Pattern – Hay Girl (purchase from Ana’s)
• No-Show or Poly-Mesh embroidery stabilizer (will be available for small quantity purchase)**
We recommend pre-treating your fabric with starch or a Terial Magic mixture for the best results. All fabrics, rulers, and stabilizers are available for purchase at the shop with your class discount.
