Artlyn is a native Hawaiian self-taught artist whose work reflects her deep love for Hawai’i. She creates with mixed mediums including acrylic on canvas, pottery, and botanicals. Her art is featured in Aloha To Go (St. Petersburg), Cape Coral re:MADE, and online. Artlyn also practices traditional and contemporary lei-making using leaves she and her husband grow. She's the author and illustrator of a rhyming children’s book and is co-writing a faith-based story inspired by her husband's miraculous healing journey.
Join Artlyn for a warm, hands-on introduction to the beautiful cultural art of lei-making. Rooted in Aloha and tradition, this beginner-friendly class focuses on the basics of lei-making using Hawaiian Ti Leaves — lovingly grown by Artlyn and her husband. You’ll learn how to prepare, cut, and braid the leaves by hand as Artlyn shares their many special uses beyond lei-making.
Each participant will create two beautiful Ti leaf leis to take home — perfect for gifting or keeping as a meaningful reminder of your experience. Your hands might get a little sticky (we’ve got paper towels ready!), but your heart will be full as we “talk story” about Hawai’i, its customs, and island life.
Enjoy a sweet spread of coconut cake, tropical fruit, and freshly brewed Kona coffee while we weave, laugh, and connect. Come curious, leave connected — this is more than a class, it’s a slice of Aloha. Mahalo for joining and sharing in this special tradition!
