Colombian-American stand-up comedian Oscar Collazos brings Growing Up Colombian back to Miami on June 26th for one night of hilarity and one night only! Born in Cali in the late 70's, Oscar's family fled Colombia in 1986 and that's when all the trauma began. The newly-arrived second grader tried desperately to fit in, but it came with difficulties. Overprotective parents, huge language barriers and, of course, lots of ridicule. Oscar was the subject of bullying, jeering and mocking that lasted from elementary school all through high school. But by then, Oscar had developed a sharp tongue and the skills to defend himself and that was the basis of him becoming the stand-up comedian he is today. He laughs at his bicultural experiences such as the mispronunciation of words in both languages, getting disciplined by the ever-famous chancleta, and constantly hearing the popular Colombian threat of "SI NO SE COMPORTA, LO MANDO PA' COLOMBIA!"Oscar was able to survive a tough Colombian upbringing and an extremely challenging American environment, and he has complied a long list of hilarious stories that will have everyone, not just Colombians, cracking up. He has shared his humor at legendary New York City venues like The Apollo Theater and The Comedy Cellar and all the way to cruise ships, colleges, bars, pubs and even across continents in Germany, England and Indonesia. Oscar was always been the "class clown" but it all became a serious business when he interned at Late Night with Conan O'Brien. He's been featured on Don't Tell, New York Comedy Festival, Jersey City Comedy Festival, Las Vegas Comedy Festival and Rouge Island Comedy Festival as well as Sirius XM Radio and commercials that have aired on ESPN, Comedy Central and PBS.Don't miss the funniest bilingual show out there right now - Growing Up Colombian!
