Join us for a community gathering at the river for Havdalah. We will relax, swim, eat, and sing. Please bring a picnic dinner and drinks for you/your family. Dessert will be provided.
Havdalah is a Hebrew word that means “separation” and is the ritual that ends Shabbat, separating it from the start of the new week. A beautiful ritual, it’s a brief ceremony that uses four elements to mark the moment we sadly say goodbye to the beauty of Shabbat, and pledge to carry its gifts into the week to come. See https://reformjudaism.org/beliefs-practices/prayers-blessings/shabbat-conclusion-havdalah-blessings for more information.
Location: Bridgeport. A little before the Covered Bridge. Go to the family cemetery, walk down the path. There is a fork. Take the path to the right that clearly looks like a path and has a sign. Follow for less than 5 minutes and arrive at a beautiful, quiet beach with a swimming hole. Great spot for littles. The path is flat and easy to walk.
Please RSVP by email to [email protected] or call 530-477-0922.
