Nau mai haere mai, join Te Pumanawa o Te Waheke / Climate Action Hub to celebrate Matariki.
A hautapu is a traditional ceremony held to make an offering to Matariki. We are holding a hautapu to gather people together to reflect on the year that’s been, to set goals for the future, and reflect on the environment and the significance it has in our lives. Please join us for kai, a cooked breakfast following the ceremony.
There will also be a native tree planting event, next door at Hillcrest Stadium, from 9-12pm that you’re welcome to take part in.
This is a free event, but a koha is appreciated.
The Climate Action Hub, is a Go Eco initiative. It is a one-stop shop for anything climate action. If you get in touch we can help connect you, support you with a project idea, or even share ideas of our own! The Climate Action Hub also holds an event on the last Friday of every month. This is a space for stories to be shared, kōrero to be had, and climate justice to be made. Don’t be afraid to get in touch and make sure to follow us on Instagram @climateactionhub.
