Step into the shadows of Port Townsend’s past...
Each fall, Haunted Histories & Mysteries of Port Townsend invites locals and visitors to explore the town’s legendary history through tales of colorful characters, unexplained happenings, local lore, and a few mysteries that still linger.
Led by local historian and storyteller Joyce Hester, these guided walking tours weave together true history and the darker stories tucked behind Port Townsend’s Victorian facades. Along the way, you’ll hear tales of those who lived, worked, loved, lost—and perhaps never quite left.
Tours take place on select dates throughout October and depart from Tyler Street Plaza, 199 Tyler St, Port Townsend, WA 98368.

BEFORE YOU JOIN US
• Ages 16+ recommended. Tours include adult themes and storytelling that may not be suitable for young children.
• Dress for the weather. Tours take place mostly outdoors, rain or shine. Wear weather-appropriate layers and comfortable walking shoes.
• Please arrive a few minutes early at Tyler Street Plaza to check in with your guide before your scheduled departure.
• Respect our local businesses. At select points, tours may briefly enter participating historic buildings. Please be courteous, mindful of ongoing business, and follow your guide’s instructions while indoors.
• Accessibility: Due to uneven sidewalks, stairs, and the historic nature of the route and buildings, these tours are not ADA accessible.
