Harvest Party At Camp Two - Documentary Film Screening

A photograph, a family story, and a legendary party offer an engaging window into local history when Yuba Sutter Arts & Culture presents Harvest Party at Camp Two on Friday, November 6, 2026, at the Sutter Theater Center for the Arts, 754 Plumas Street in Yuba City. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the film begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10. Following the screening, audiences can join a panel discussion featuring the director and others involved in the film. Co-directed by Rajan Gill and Reaa Puri, this approximately 16-minute documentary revisits the lives of young Punjabi-Sikh farmworkers in 1980s Yuba City. Their world included long days in peach orchards, family responsibilities, encounters with racism, and the universal teenage desire to socialize, dance, and have fun. Unable to attend their local proms and homecoming dances, they created celebrations of their own: harvest parties that became the stuff of community legend.
