Sierra Harvest’s Glean Program rescues produce that would otherwise go to waste and delivers this food to local food banks. We’re looking for new or regular volunteers who want to take an active role in food rescue and redistribution across Nevada County. Whether we’re harvesting 100 pounds of apples, or picking up leftover farmers’ market produce, there’s much coordinating to be done with volunteers, land owners, farmers, and food banks.
If you’re interested in volunteering as a Harvest Coordinator, we’re holding a training on Saturday, May 4th at the Sierra Harvest office – 313 Railroad Ave #201 Nevada City, CA 95959 from 10 am to 1 pm. Please RSVP through the event page on our website. Link below!
