Hartford Urban Wood Showcase
About this Event
Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating the intersection of history, craftsmanship, sustainability, and community.
The inaugural Hartford Urban Wood Showcase will feature the Hoadley Oak Collection—a remarkable exhibition of handcrafted works created from one of Connecticut's most significant trees. The Hoadley Oak, a descendant of the legendary Charter Oak, stood in Hartford's Bushnell Park for generations before being removed in 2023. Today, its legacy lives on through the creativity and skill of local artisans who have transformed this historic wood into works of lasting beauty and purpose.
Hosted by the Keney Park Sustainability Project's Wood Materials Management Program, the Showcase highlights the value of urban wood utilization and demonstrates how reclaimed trees can be transformed into cultural, artistic, environmental, and economic assets for our communities.
