Laurence Heine Artist Statement -
I have been interested in photography since childhood, and I enjoy photographing nature, scenery, and wildlife. I also enjoy photographing ‘distressed’ (as in abandoned or forlorn) buildings and objects. More recently I have been doing macro photography, taking close-up photos of insects, flowers, and other interesting objects and textures.
I frequently use several advanced photographic techniques such as focus stacking and HDR (High Dynamic Range) to enable or enhance my digital photographs.
My desire is to capture specific scenes or objects that are meaningful to me, so I can share them with others so they can enjoy them too, either by displaying prints or by sharing them online. My wife frequently helps me by being a “spotter,” identifying something she has seen that might make an interesting photograph. Viewers of my exhibits have suggested that I can make an interesting photograph of pretty much anything.
I believe almost every photo has a story. My wife and I started a photo blog at https://blinspirations.com which features some of my photos and describes the circumstances which led to the photo being taken, as well as information about the location and some technical aspects of the photo.
