Harper's Ferry Maryland Heights, Old Fashion Candy Store,& Harpers Ferry Brewery

We will be meeting at the I-70 and I-695 park and ride at 8:00 for the carpool.
For anyone who is driving we will meet in front of the train station which is in the parking lot across from the ice cream store in Harpers Ferry at 9:00...parking is limited in town. This is a strenuous hike, with a lot of elevation change, about 7 miles with an amazing view of the historic town...bring snacks and water.....
After the hike we will visit the one of a kind Historic Candy Shop(https://www.truetreatscandy.com/) in town, and hit up Harpers Ferry Brewing for drinks and food, which also has one of the best views around. [https://harpersferrybrewing.com/](https://harpersferrybrewing.com/)
The climb to the top of Maryland Heights is very steep, so there will be multiple stops along the way. We go up to the fort (steep climb) with a nice overlook of the Potomac River on top. Hike along the ridge with two additional overlooks. Then hike down to the MD Heights overlook with spectacular views of Harpers Ferry and the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers.
Directions to Harper's Ferry from Baltimore: 70 West to 340 South. Follow 340 from MD to Virginia to W Virginia. After crossing the Shenandoah River, take first Right at Shenandoah St and follow to the end of the road and make a left hand turn. The Amtrak parking lot is two blocks away on the Right Hand Side.
