About this Event

Addressing the climate crisis requires sweeping transformations across energy, housing, transport and infrastructure. Delivering these changes depends fundamentally on the capacity of public institutions to coordinate across sectors, design new policy tools and mobilise long-term investment.

This session will explore how tools such as outcomes-oriented procurement, mission-driven public finance and new institutional arrangements can accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy. It will bring together policymakers and experts to reflect on how governments can align their capabilities, financial tools and policy instruments to deliver ambitious climate and economic transformation agendas.
Moderated by Prof. Mariana Mazzucato, the panel will feature international policymakers and experts, including Mark Leigh, Director of Commercial at the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, alongside contributors from the OECD and government representatives working on green industrial strategy and public sector transformation.
