Harm Reduction as a Healing Framework
About this Event
Have you ever sat with a client whose decisions made you hold your breath, wondering how you can best help them? Professional helpers are no strangers to this scenario, but some of the advice we’re given may be outdated.
In this installment of The Collective Connection, we’ll explore harm reduction as a core philosophy of care and look at what it actually takes to put it into practice. You’ll leave with resources to better help your clientele as well as opportunities to deepen their knowledge in substance use support.
The information session begins promptly at 10:05 and will last about 20 minutes. The remaining time is available for attendees to ask questions, present concerns, share about their practice, and connect with other professionals.
Host: Amber Edwards will be leading the discussion on harm reduction as a healing framework. She has worked as part of a clinical care team in the drug and alcohol field for nearly ten years, and has been working as a Reiki therapist that specializes in addiction recovery for six years. She has received extensive training through DDAP, Ken Montrose, PA Harm Reduction Network, and the Lighthouse Learning Collective.
