Chip Cagle Bio:
Chip Cagle has been the Regional Business Development Consultant of Georgia and Alabama for Longhorn Investments since May 2023. Chip brokered loans to Longhorn for many years prior to joining the team. When Longhorn expanded to Georgia, they asked Chip to work the state, but it took a while for him to finally accept! In Georgia, current metro areas include Atlanta, Savannah, Athens, Macon, Columbus and Augusta. In Alabama, current metro areas include Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, and Anniston/Oxford.
After graduating from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Computer Science and Math, Chip worked for a few years with IBM. He then became an IT consultant, traveling around the country and some parts of the world helping companies get the most out of their software systems. When business slowed down in 2005, Chip adapted by learning how to fix&flip RE investment properties. During one weekend training, a wise instructor told the group that you can never learn everything you need to know in training. He asked, “Did you learn to ride a bike in a seminar? No, you got on the bike and learned from your mistakes”. That Monday, Chip signed a contract on his first investment property! Sure enough, he made mistakes, but still managed to make around $20k. In 2016, Chip decided to leave IT consulting and wanted to do something related to real estate. He went to a real estate investor meeting where the speaker was talking about RE investment lending. He did the lender training until his IT contract ended in late 2016 and again got on the bike to ride! And hasn’t looked back...
