Transportation

We encourage everyone to bike or take transit to the show. In addition to being the right thing to do, consider also that it can be very hard to park in Chinatown on summer weekends. If you decide to drive, leave extra time for parking and traffic.

Enter the park at the corner of 19th and Wells St, which is a 5 minute walk from the north exit of the Cermak-Chinatown red line station.

We recommend using https://mellowbikemap.com for safe bike directions. A few bike racks are available behind the boathouse inside the park. You are also welcome to bring your bike and keep it with you at the show.

There is a Divvy dock at the park entrance.

Restrooms

The Chicago Park District loves to close its restrooms at the most inconvenient times, so there will be no open restrooms on site. Instead, public restrooms are available at the following locations:

• Chinatown Branch, Chicago Public Library (2100 S Wenworth Ave, Open till 5pm, 10min walk)
• Mariano's ( 1615 S Clark St, Open till 10pm, 15min walk)

There will be a 30 minute break between each set to give everyone time to use the restroom.

Weather plan

If it's nice out, we'll set up on the lawn next to the boathouse. In case of light rain, we will set up underneath the 18th Street Bridge. If there is severe weather (thunderstorms, heavy rain, etc.) we will postpone the event.

We'll send weather updates to everyone who has RSVPed to this event, and we will also post them on the Hard Femme Instagram account.

Accessibility

There are no steps up or down to access the parts of Ping Tom Park that we will be occupying. In case of nice weather, we plan to set up on the grass lawn of the park, which might be difficult to navigate in a wheelchair. The lawn is encircled by paved paths, however.

Accessing the interior of Ping Tom Park requires walking or rolling 1/5th of a mile from the entrace at 19th and Wells St. The closest bathroom is a half mile walk or roll from the site of the show, at the Chinatown library.
