Ever wondered about the origins of your favorite cocktails? Then Come Think While You Drink at a special live screening of Happy Hour History, the fun new Amazon streaming series that highlights the intimate connections between alcoholic beverages and major events in human history. You’ll be treated to two delicious classic cocktails, appetizers and enjoy a curated tasting of delicious single malt whiskies featured in the show.

Our event begins with a welcome cocktail that is featured in the series. Then series creator and host David S. Mayne (PBS, The History Detectives.) will present A Brief History of Kansas City Drinking before launching into the show.
We will then screen two 25-minute episodes starting with, Scotch & Don’t Drink the Water (about the history of scotch.) Followed by Scofflaw Women (about how the early women’s rights movement helped to end prohibition.) It features Kansas City bartender, and Chartreuse Saloon owner Jill Cockson.
On top of that, in between the episodes, Dan Crowell, the National Brand Ambassador of Glemorangie Scotch will walk you through a curated tasting of delicious single malts from both the Glemorangie & Ardbeg distilleries.
It doesn’t get any more fun than this. Plus, it’s educational!

Each Happy Hour History episode starts with a cocktail that is traced back to a historical event that changed our world forever. Then, after the brief history lesson that includes Monty Python inspired animations and historical recreations, top bartenders from around the country teach viewers how to make that classic cocktail at home.
