SBGS is proud to present world renowned guitarist and ever-rising star Hao Yang LIVE IN CONCERT. For one night only, Ms. Yang will enrapture us with her immaculate technique and exquisite touch. As an ambassador of new music, along with deep respect for the classical repertoire, Hao Yang has been selected as an Astral Artist, an organization that supports extraordinary emerging musicians. She has performed in concerts all over the world in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Kimmel Center, New York Subculture, Miller Theatre at Columbia University, and Princeton Sound Kitchen.
Furthering her appeal, Ms. Yang is also an enthusiastic ensemble player, recording and championing new chamber works by Paul Lansky and Poul Ruders under the Grammy award-winning label Bridge Records.
Also included in the program will be a PRELUDE PERFORMANCE by Claire Okamoto. A regular at the South Bay Guitar Society's open mic events, Claire studies formally with Scott Cmiel at the Pre-College Division of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she also performs in a guitar quartet and guitar orchestra. Claire is a junior in high school, but there is nothing junior about this fine young guitarist. We welcome Claire to the stage!
