Join Hansel and Gretel as they venture into the woods, trailing breadcrumbs and sharing their story as they go. The mischievous siblings are searching for the magical market at the heart of the forest – but if they’re not careful they’ll find more than just sweets waiting for them in the deep dark woods...

This inclusive version of Hansel & Gretel is a sensory story full of magic, gentle interaction and integrated signing. With an enchanting woodland set, playful characters and poetic storytelling, it is a perfect first time theatre experience for little ones.

Suitable for 4+/family

Free pre-show workshop

PaddleBoat Theatre welcomes you to enjoy a sensory workshop in the woods; a relaxed drama session where we'll explore the sights, sounds and smells of a winter woodland.

This workshop is an opportunity for children to meet the cast and characters of Hansel & Gretel, explore the set before the show, and become familiar with the story.

This is an accessible workshop that will include Sign Supported English & break out spaces - ideally suited for first time theatre goers, young people with additional needs or any child who would enjoy a gentle introduction to drama.

Spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Free workshop places only available to those who purchase a ticket for the show.

What does a relaxed and inclusive performance mean?

The environment will be relaxed and welcoming for everyone. There is less emphasis on sitting quietly, allowing those that need to, to move around and openly express their enjoyment. Our doors are left open, the lights are not dimmed and the performers are experienced with responding to those with access needs. The venue is wheelchair/buggy accessible and has an accessible toilet.

If you have any questions regarding access or would like further details, please contact our access coordinator, [email protected]

Disabled guests can book one free personal assistant ticket by emailing our in advance, and providing proof of disability.
