Hanna Kim Trio is made up of three members with contrasting strength, which allow us to complement each other’s performance perfectly. For our band’s performance, we aim to incorporate elements that exhibit our diverse backgroud of music and cultures. We hope this would allow us to produce a showing that resembles a cultural melting pot.
Key personnel bio’s
The lead pianist, Hanna Kim was born in South Korea and she graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree In Jazz Piano Performance in Seoul Art College in Korea. After graduating, she decided to further her study in America. While in America, she auditioned for New York City College (CUNY) & California State University, Northridge (CSUN). She performed well in both of the auditions and she was offered scholarships to attend both the schools but unfortunately, she was not able to pursue either due to issues with her visa.
While she was in Korea, she had the opportunity to collaborate with multiple well-known singers in Korea as a session musician. After her relocation to Perth, she had worked with a lot of musicians through diverse acts and performances. She had performed in a variety of venues and festivals, which include King Street Corner Pocket Jazz Festival, PJS present and Fringe World. Sometime after her relocation to Perth, she also started to run a YouTube Channel named “Hans Piano”
In 2017, Hanna Kim decided to start her own band with her composed tunes. Since their establishment, they’ve been performing all across Perth and this will be their fourth year of playing together.
Her musical journey in Perth had been nothing short of amazing and she hopes that it will only get better from here onwards.
