Hands-On Pasta: Orecchiette Salsiccia e Cime di Rapa (Date Night Edition)

In our hands-on format, you'll dive right in to making pasta yourself from scratch. Our Scuola Chef will then prepare the signature dish for you to taste in class. Take your culinary creation with you at the end of class and enjoy your own hard work at home!

About this Dish: Orecchiette con Cime di Rapa is one of the signature pasta dishes from Apulia, city of Bari in particular.. This is a classic “poor man’s dish” or cucina povera that dates back to ancient times. A couple of simple local ingredients like homemade pasta (orecchiette), seasonal veggies, extra virgin olive oil, garlic and peperoncino is what it takes to make this epic, world famous pasta dish.

Sustainability: Rapini (also know as Broccoli Rabe) is a great vegetable to use in full - from stem to head, rather than just the leaves. Buying rapini from local farms reduces transportation emissions and supports small-scale farmers. Sausages are a great example of using all parts of an animal rather than only the better-known cuts. At Eataly we also work with local producers to ensure that we only carry products from humanely-raised animals that are antibiotic and hormone free.

In this Class You Will:

• Observe as our Scuola Chef teaches the group how to make Orecchiette con Cime di Rapa
• Make your own Orecchiette pasta from scratch by hand
• Enjoy a menu featuring an antipasto, two glasses of wine, and Orecchiette con Cime di Rapa prepared by our Chef

• Classes are also suitable for children 5+ who are passionate about Italian cuisine. Under 15 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

Payment, Refund & Cancellation Policy
Payment in full is required at the time of registration and all sales are final. No refunds are offered on classes and events. For groups of 5-10 guests, a minimum of 7 days' notice (class day not included) is required to receive a credit in the form of a coupon for a future class or event. For groups of up to 4 guests, a minimum of 4 days' notice (class day not included) is required to receive a credit in the form of a coupon code for a future class or event at La Scuola. We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel a class or event due to unforeseen circumstances, inclement weather or otherwise. In the event of a class or event cancellation, we will contact you directly at the phone number or email address you have provided to offer a full refund or credit to transfer to a future class or event. While we are not able to offer credit, transfers or refunds for last-minute illnesses, work-related conflicts, personal emergencies or events beyond our control, you are always welcome to send someone in your place, as we understand that these things do happen. If you are purchasing this class or event as a gift, please provide this cancellation policy to the recipient, as the policy will still apply. Credits issued for La Scuola events are redeemable only for future La Scuola events and cannot be used to register for events in other parts of the marketplace or exchanged for store credit or Eataly gift cards.
