Hands-on Introduction to R programming
About this Event
Hands-on tutorials to help build skills required in Precision Child Health, data science and bioinformatics. The training is prepared for staff and trainees at SickKids and beyond by the Centre for Computational Medicine (CCM).
This is a hybrid event offered both in-person and online.
Topics include:
- Basic operations in RStudio
- Creating an R script
- Vectors, matrices, data frames
- Reading data from text and Excel files
No prior knowledge of programming is required. We encourage you to bring your laptop to practice data analysis steps under our guidance. We recommend that you have the following software pre-installed:
- R – install from https://cran.rstudio.com (unless your laptop already has it)
- RStudio – install from https://www.rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download
