About this Event

Literally meaning "little knobs," gnocchi dumplings are made of riced potato and flour. The dough is then rolled, one by one, over a textured surface to produce sauce-capturing ridges. While the exact origins of this Italian culinary staple are subject to debate, many hold the belief that gnocchi became popularized when Spanish explorers introduced potatoes from South America to Europe in the sixteenth century.

Join us at La Scuola di Eataly Toronto to learn more about the delightful pillowy pasta and all its variations. Our Chef will prepare two gnocchi classics to offer you the opportunity of tasting two completely different but equally delicious dishes part of the Italian regional traditions of gnocchi making.

You will learn about the history of the dishes and how to perfectly select ingredients to make your own at home. After the dinner, you'll be invited by the Chef to try your hand at learning the technique, and once done, you'll be able to take the gnocchi home with the recipe from the evening to recreate the meal whenever you like.

Don’t miss the chance to explore the secrets behind the art of gnocchi making!

In this class, guests will:

  • Discover the history of gnocchi and learn about the different regional variations of the dish
  • Take part in a hands-on activity, trying their hand at making fresh potato gnocchi
