Handel’s Coronation Anthems for George III
About this Event
The culmination of our 60th Season brings together two wonderful groups- the renowned 24-voice chamber chorus Schola Cantorum from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and our own Providence Baroque Orchestra. Newly arrived Yale conductor Grete Pedersen leads a selection of Handel’s most celebratory and joyous works, his Coronation Anthems for George III were written in 1727, and performed for every British coronation since. We close out our 60th Season with a festive champagne reception!
