Hand Stitched fabric mushrooms!

Join Kim for a deep dive into the art of slow stitching as we make 3-D mushrooms! Some experience with handstiching will be helpful, but it's not necessary. This class is heavy on the fine motor skills and small details, so come prepared with your reading glasses and nimble fingers :)THIS IS A 2 PART CLASS, MEETING MONDAY NOV. 18TH & 25TH, FROM 6-8PM BOTH EVENINGS.

Each mushroom is approximately 6" tall. There will be many fabrics to choose from in class for both the caps and stems. Due to the laborious nature of this craft, some of the prep will be done ahead of time. This includes cutting out and pre machine stitching the cap and underside pieces to prepare them for hand stitching. If you have a particular fabric you would like to use, please get in touch with us ahead of time.

You can get as detailed as you like with these! They are SO FUN to create, and with a wire base to the stem, you can bend them into any shape you like. Each student will go home with 1-2 finished mushrooms, and a paper pattern for making more at home. This pattern can be scaled up or down for bigger or smaller mushrooms! If you do not fully complete the second mushroom in class, you may bring home the appropriate materials .Hot tea & water provided, feel free to bring a snack.
