About this Event
Discover the timeless art of hand quilting using the beautiful and portable technique of English Paper Piecing (EPP). In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to create precise, intricate quilt designs using fabric, paper templates, and simple hand-stitching methods—no sewing machine required.
Perfect for beginners and experienced sewists alike, this class will guide you step-by-step through the essentials of EPP, including preparing fabric, wrapping and basting paper templates, whip stitching pieces together, and pressing for crisp, clean finishes. You’ll gain confidence working with classic shapes such as hexagons and learn how small pieces come together to form stunning quilt blocks.
By the end of the workshop, you will have completed a small project—such as a coaster, mini quilt block, or decorative panel—and leave with the skills to continue creating larger quilts at your own pace.
In This Workshop, You Will Learn:
- The fundamentals of English Paper Piecing
- How to cut and baste fabric around paper templates
- Hand-stitching techniques for strong, nearly invisible seams
- Layout and design basics for quilt blocks
- Tips for portability and stitching on the go
All skill levels welcome.
Come enjoy the slow, mindful rhythm of hand quilting and connect with a tradition cherished by quilters for generations. All supplies are included.
