About this Event
If you want to learn the Blues Guitar you couldn’t get instruction from a more knowledgeable source. You will learn common chord sequences for a 12 bar blues. The fundamental building blocks of The Blues. How to play the Blues in the most important keys. Using hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides, whams and turnarounds. Palm muting and chugging - and that’s just for starters. The last section of the session (technical term) is entitled ‘Putting it all Together’ - playing a couple of classic Blues pieces.
The workshop location can hold 10 people with enough space for the correct social distancing practice. Please understand if sudden Government guidelines prevent the workshop from going ahead. If that should happen, we will make sure you get a place on another workshop.
Acoustic guitars only, please.
You should be able to play the e minor pentatonic scale and the following chords: E, A B7, G, C, D. This is a beginner blues class, not a workshop for beginner guitarists. We try to make the workshop an interesting experience for all levels of ability.
There are just ten people in each class. This class is for adults but please get in touch if you wanted to bring someone under 16.
You will be given learning material but it might be wise to bring a pen and paper.
We take 3 breaks during the workshop. We do not provide refreshments but you can buy food and drink at The Wheatsheaf bar.
Please note. As part of the venue hire agreement, please do not bring your own food and drinks onto the premises as it is technically a restaurant.
