About this Event

It's an afternoon of lowbrow humor and highballs.Farrah Fawcett, Don Knotts, and Jack Lemmon once stood on top of the world. Come stand on top of them at the Westwood Memorial cemetery, as we put the fun back into funeral, and the "ew" back into eulogy. We'll cry over Roy Orbison, pine over Natalie Wood, and pay our respects to Rodney Dangerfield.

We start our tour in this "I never knew this was here" sanctuary by knocking on the door of Three's Company's Don Knotts. Next we'll headstone over to Mel Torme, who wrote The Christmas Song, and who no longer roasts chestnuts over an open fire - we hope. The rest of the journey is deftly plotted to include Truman Capote in cold blood, and the hot body of Joe Weider, who like Charles Atlas ended up with a whole lot of sand in his face. The climax of our tour is visiting the greatest sex symbol of all time: Marilyn Monroe. Her tomb covered in red lipstick. Next to her is the tomb of Hugh Hefner, which is covered in Scotch Guard.Slip away from the crypts, and catacomb over to gander at a collection of vibrant art. We'll see the first day of "Made In LA" at the Hammer museum, an exhibit of the finest local painters and sculptors working today. To cap off this adventure we'll sing and dance (to the tune of "Stayin' Alive") on over to the Napa Valley Grille. Manager Sebastian will be standing by to provide a chilled martini glass of “Passion,” Marilyn Monroe’s favorite cocktail.

We shall toast those who had it all, for while we may not have breathed the same rarefied air as these stars...at least we're still breathing. And as Peter Falk once said, "Oh, one more thing":INCLUDED IN THIS EVENT• Guided tour of Pierce Brothers cemetery with movie history• Guided tour of the Hammer Museum• Movie trivia game with prizes•
