Performances will start at 6:30pm with a short performance from the Young Bards - Capitol Shakespeare’s Youth Theatre company. They will perform a comedic show based on some of the best monologues of Shakespeare. This show was created and directed by Capitol Shakespeare veteran Stephanie Jorritsma. The MainStage performance of Hamlet will begin directly after the Young Bards performance.
Hamlet follows the story of young Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark, as he comes to grips with the death of his father and seemingly hasty marriage of his mother to his uncle (his father’s brother). Throughout the play Hamlet is torn between love and loss, grief and forgiveness and this struggle leads to all sorts calamity and strife.
Performances are FREE but a free will donation will be taken to help defray costs. There will also be limited concessions available for purchase. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and come and enjoy a night of Shakespeare in the beautiful North Dakota landscape
