About Alex Whorms:
Alex Whorms crafts music that is a genre unto itself. On her feet, dancing behind her keyboard, the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist flows freely between sounds, flawlessly blending indie, alternative, folk, pop and almost anything else that strikes her fancy - investing everything with honest tales and authentic emotions drawn from her own life.
Born and raised in Pickering, Ontario, the self-described "classical music kid” became a "musical theatre kid” in high school and was first inspired to write her own songs when she discovered the poetic, genre-bending music of Pickering artist Sarah Slean on CD at the local library. Slean led her to Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Carole King, Regina Spektor, Norah Jones and Sara Bareilles and later to Feist, MUNA, Andy Shauf, and Stars - influences which would inspire the sound of Whorms’ own compositions for years to come.
While enrolled at McMaster University as a biophysics major, Whorms eventually found her home in Hamilton’s music scene, as a songwriter, session musician, and screen composer. Now with three EP’s to her name, the Hamilton Arts Award recipient has appeared on regional and national TV, and 30+ CBC radio shows with her single “Christmas Morning” named one of CBC’s “Best new holiday songs of 2022”.
She has performed at Toronto Pride, Canadian Music Week, Hamilton's Festival of Friends, even Toronto's Royal Conservatory of Music, and has shared the stage with top songwriters Lorraine Segato, Abigail Lapell, Suzie McNeil, Jacob Moon and Ben Caplan.
Her new EP, Daylight Chasing Dusk, was co-produced by Michael Keire (Arkells, Matt Mays) and Thomas Hammerton (Ellevator, Kathleen Edwards, Cuff The Duke). Featuring songs like “Younger Self”, “Stay”, and “The Way”, Daylight Chasing Dusk is drenched in synths, driven by upright piano, emotive drums, and Whorms’ confessional vocal, confronting questions of identity, grief, and persistence.

About Garrett Lajoie:
Garrett Lajoie is a singer-songwriter and producer based in Hamilton, Ontario, known for his rich blend of indie-folk, pop, and rock influences. His original songs combine heartfelt lyricism with modern production flair, creating a sound that’s both introspective and accessible.
Since the release of his self-produced EP Morning People in 2019, Garrett has made his mark behind the scenes as a producer and co-writer for emerging Canadian pop artists including Eye-Sha, Julianna Jones, Mauve, and Groundwaves. This work highlights his versatility and ear for melody, crafting tracks that cross genres.
Garrett's first independent single in six years, "Scary" is a stream-of-consciousness track that weaves his anxieties into a hypnotic rhythm. Built on brushed drums, ambient textures, and nature sounds, the song explores modern fears through an honest lens.
Garrett's new EP, due October 3 on streaming platforms, displays his acoustic sensibilities and ear-grabbing pop hooks, drawing on influences such as John Mayer, Gracie Abrams, and Mumford and Sons. Through his journey as a songwriter and producer he has once again self-produced a record that is as honest as it is designed for radio.
Garrett has gathered some of Hamilton and Toronto’s finest for his live band: drummer Matt Soliveri (The Redhill Valleys), EWI/saxophonist Matt Lagan (The Shuffle Demons), keyboardist-composer Ian Aisling (Junestone), and electric bassist Joel Banks.
Originally from Sarnia, Garrett began studying guitar at age nine, later moving to Hamilton to attend Mohawk College’s music program. He now shares his passion as a music teacher and event coordinator with the An Instrument For Every Child program, helping the next generation of musicians find their voice.
