Hamden Symphony Fall Concert - "Reverberations"

Hamden Symphony Orchestra will begin its 63rd season with “Reverberations” at a special location New Haven’s Trinity Lutheran Church on Sunday November 24th at 3:30 PM. This performance includes the powerful Symphony No. 3 “Organ” of Camille Saint-Saëns with Susan Drexel-Paisley the Orchestra’s former concertmaster performing on the Church’s historic pipe-organ.
The largest group in the Orchestra’s history Hamden Symphony’s 90+ all-volunteer musicians have been working on a unique program that crosses different sonorities and ensemble-configurations. Alex Tucker-Slap former flautist with HSO will perform the American premiere of the Suite for Flute and Strings by New Haven-based composer Sandy Mehinovic.
The Orchestra’s winds brass and percussion sections will open the concert with two works; Caccia and Chorale a signature of the concert-band repertoire by American composer Clifton Williams and accompanied by a small-choir a setting of “Let Nothing Ever Grieve Thee” a hymn of Johannes Brahms.
No tickets are required in advance. A $15 Suggested Donation ($10 Students/Seniors) will be accepted at the door. The address for Trinity Lutheran Church is 292 Orange Street New Haven CT 06510. Free parking is available in the public parking lot at the corner of Orange and Grove Streets.
