Dale Smith is the Chief Financial Officer of NASA’s Marshall Spaceflight Center, bringing more than three decades of military and civilian expertise in financial management, digital transformation, and organizational leadership. A former Senior Executive Service member, he previously served as the Army’s Director of Resource Management in the Office of the G‑4, leading major sustainment and financial oversight efforts. His earlier roles include senior leadership positions at AMCOM and Army Contracting Command–Redstone, where he advanced audit readiness, acquisition processes, and analytic capabilities. Dale’s 22-year Army career spanned from armor officer to comptroller, culminating in retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel. He holds an MBA from the University of Florida and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from West Point, and has earned multiple military and civilian awards, including the Bronze Star and the Army Civilian Superior Service Medal.
