Smoked Ham
1. All hams and bacon will be checked in on Monday, July 20th, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
2. Ham and Bacon judging to begin at 1:00 p.m.
3. The top 12 blue ribbon hams overall and the top 12 blue ribbon bacon overall will be ranked by the judge.
3. Only the top 10 Bacons overall receiving blue ribbons may sell at the auction. Ranked by the judge.
4. Only the top 10 Hams overall receiving blue ribbons may sell at the auction. Ranked by the judge.
5. The 11th and 12th place hams and the 11th and 12th place bacons will serve as alternates to the auction. They will ONLY move to the auction if someone in the top ten is a repeat owner, OR if someone in the top ten chooses to sell another item in the auction. The maximum hams to potentially be in the auction is ten, and the maximum bacons in the auction is ten; however, that does not guarantee that many will be allowed in the auction.
6. All ham and bacon entries will need to be picked up no later than 6 p.m. on Monday, July 20th.
7. Participants may sell 1 ham OR 1 bacon (per maximum 1 item guidelines for Randolph County Blue Ribbon Auction.
8. Members must be present at the sale unless pre-approved by Fair Board and Ham and Bacon Chairpersons.
9. Absolutely no ham or bacon receiving a red or white ribbon will sell.
Notices ▪ Exhibitors selling ham or bacon in the auction, are required to get their picture taken with their ham or bacon. ▪ Exhibitors must wear their fair shirt for all photos. ▪ Exhibitors are responsible for getting the bacon sliced and packaged to sell in the Randolph County Blue Ribbon Auction. ▪ The auction is on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 7 p.m. ▪ The judge has the right to disqualify any and all hams and/or bacons for spoilage, worms, mouse holes, etc. ▪ If a buyer has a problem with a bacon or ham, they are to contact the Randolph County Fair Board within two (2) weeks after the sale and return the product. If the product is considered to be bad, the exhibitor is responsible for refunding the money to the buyer. ▪ Only federally inspected and packed products may be shown or sold. ▪ The judge's decisions are final.
